Hi, is it true UBB 7 can't be configured to allow for rating your own topics?

You can rate topics in UBB.Threads7

If you turn it on

In control panel you can turn both topic and member ratings on and off.

....in the case of member ratings, you cannot turn them off for individual members (yet!)

lol yeh, you CAN turn them off...

I know you can rate topics, but can you configure it to rate topics that *you've started* (i.e. your own topics)?

In UBB 6 you could rate your own, but I've been told that in v7 you can't.

You cant Rate your own topics, this was a bug ages ago, and has since been fixed.

Thanks Mark, but from my point of view as a user it's a bug that you can't rate your own topics.

I use a forum for a popular CAD package which has a section for posting ideas about the program's development. I don't always rate mine 5 stars; sometimes I'm just posting an idea to see what others think. Sometimes I rate other people's ideas higher than my own. But now I can't rate mine at all since upgrading to v7. And the beauty about rating your own is that it encourages others to use the rating system, which I have to say is not very visible as it stands.

as you can even reply with a poll, and have multiple polls in one post..

I don't really think that allowing users to rate their own posts is a good "feature", as you said, people can just vote their own post a 5 and skew results...
