This used to work?
All that's changed is that i used to have.
Apache 1
Myqsl 4
Php 4
Upgraded - clean install (lol)
Apache 2
Mysql 5
Php 5
In a forum where i allow users to post with image verification
i decided just to have a go as the invisible man.
I suspect its going to be the same on my registration screen too.
Hang on i shall check.
Yeh its the same there too, you cant get past the image verification, see last image.
The images below show various attempts to get past image verification, like i say above before the software upgrade
there wasn't a problem
Tested in FF2 + IE7
i suspect its my server as it always is lol

Make sure the sessions directory is writable on the new server. This is where it stores the code that needs to be matched, so my first guess is sessions aren't being written.

it was 777 Its empty apart from the index file. Just checked the ubbjs folder made that 777 + 666 files still the same. Will check the permissions on the other folders, as i followed the on-line instructions for permissions when i uploaded the forums again. And its all green lights in the control panel on the permissions checker ??

Nope
Checked the permissions from the Install Guide.
All mine were as it stated.
Cleared the cache and tried again, and again.

Hmm, probably will need a support ticket. If the sessions directory is empty, that's the reason it's not working and it will also cause other problems as well.

Long version.
My domain was xxx.com
i shut that domain down and made yyyy.com
The sessions paths are written when you do a import / install.
Because i just uploaded my forums, the sessions path was never changed. And the problems came to light when what was the xxx sessions folder was deleted.
So rick dived into a file and modified it.
That resolved it.
I would normally post the hows n whys but it cost me a support ticket
But like i say if you move install, not just download upload.
