I know how to change the order of community categories as I need to (cp, categories). Easy.

I also understand how to change the order of all forums I create within a category (cp, forum settings). Easy.

I'm able to move posts and their replies just fine. Again, Easy!

So how do I change the order of the Topics in a forum? I guess it's not that important that I know this except that I've come across this issue inside my Portal Page!

Every topic I have posted to the Portal Page is an "announcement" that automatically generates from my "News Room" forum. All of these announcements are in the right order except the last one I posted decided it would post at the top of the rest! I don't think I have it as a "sticky post" because the only icon for it is the yellow exclamation announcment icon (you know, the one that looks like a stop sign (yellow) with an exclamation point in the middle of it?).

So I guess my real question is how do I change the order of topics on my Portal Page when they're being populated there from my "News Room" forum? I've already check the "News Room" forum topics to see if I could change their order. No luck! Seems this would be a likely feature since I can do the others so easily. What gives? Am I missing something? Thanks.

I don't think they have to be "Announcements" to make it to the portal page. Just a New Topic.

If you really want that topic at the top again,
delete or move the old topic and start a brand new one.

They are time date sensitive to there order.

Sometimes you have to think out of the box to achieve what you want.

I wanted one topic to be at the top of the page, no matter what - and all others to appear underneath it. To do this, I had to add the code to the appropriate template. Not a big deal really - easy to do. smile

The way the portal works is quite simple, it looks at the data in the forums you define as portal forums and it grabs the last X ammount of them and displays them as the latest first and the oldest last... it doesn't take into account stickies or announcements, as an announcement or sticky will not always be the last X posted...

The best route of fixing this would be, as you did, editing the template page and adding the information you need at the top.
