Hi.
It would be good I think to have a log of what was said in Shout Box.
Might that be a possible feature sometime in the future?

The current design is that once something "scrolls off" it's purged; i do agree that some sort of short-term logging would be good, but the reason for it to work this way is so that general gabb doesn't take up your generally needed space.

personally I would like each post in the shoutbox to count towards the post count - my number of posts went down by 10%+ when I introduced the shoutbox LOL

LOL, yeah, I've noticed people shoouting about some things whereas before they'd post about them. We've had 4657 shouts since May 8th, so it's not something I'd want to log all the time, but at times it would be useful.

it would be sort of nice if people could browse through a shoutbox archive -- say, for instance, limited to 200-500KB. it often happens on my board that things that are said in the shoutbox are subsequently cut and pasted into a forum message. not everything typed into the shoutbox is absolute rubbish! sometimes, useful information can develop from inane conversation ...

I've stopped members having a post count in one of my forums,
why should you be rewarded for word games.
I came to this decision because 2 members done 500 posts each one night.
Shout box towards post count NOT for me.

Not in my situation, they were two blonde bimbos.
And my top 30 day poster had them both at the top and my regulars seen there arse. Where they had contributed one word answers all night long to get there.
No Blondes were ment to be offended or generalised in the above comment,
but in this situation they were Blonde and also Bimbos too
