showflat (7.1.1) and it's equivalent in 7.2bx still have a <br /> character pumped out by the .tpl regardless of whether there is a Custom title. Since this is a conditional in the .inc.php, why can't it be used by the .tpl as such? This would eliminate extra vertical space above the Avatar and vertical space is cool to not have extra of over there . 2c

An if/else clause would fix this, vs just assuming theres a title. Keep in mind however that Rick's planning to combine the two fields, so no matter what in the next version it will have a value ...

absolutely, i agree.
right now, if you have both it works with 2 br's, but if you only have 1, you still get the 2 br's.
