I was attempting to send a private message to Gulligan :), however I get the following error message - we have no record for the user.
I am able to respond to private messaging either as the Admin or an user.
I'll keep the Skipper at bay, whilst I await your suggestions.
Thanks, - GSH -

Does the user have any non-latin (or ascii) letters in their username or public name? If so, it's a well known bug which is fixed in 7.2.
A temporary fix for this issue would be to update your characterset in your install to UTF-8

Hey guys and/or girls, this is not a character issue. It does not matter whose name or member number I select (even myself), I cannot send a PM. It appears that the only way for me to send a PM is if they have posted a message in one of the forums or have PM'ed me before.
Thanks, - GSH -

Odd, the only thing I can think of is that you have been listed as an underaged member and your pm ability is revoked... And mark may be dainty, but he's no girl ... Believe me, I've checked ...

Hey Gizmo, everything is as it should be. Checked my I.D. and I am who I am suppose to be (at least for now, I might be someone else tomorrow ). The thing is, the only way I can PM is if I select a member from a previous posting (click on their name to get options). My reference to guys and girls was to cover anybody who might respond to my query. And I am not even going to ask how did you check to make certain Mark was a guy Thanks, - GSH -

This happened on my site a while back to two members who were using aol. It cleared on the next upgrade though.

The thing is Gliderdad, it is not an AOL issue as the system will not even locate me, and I am using Comcast.

Very odd then if there is no "tick" in the "Is Underaged" box in the control panel for your user account then I'm unsure as to any other reason why you woudlnt be able to start pm's...
