The calendar doesn't add value to my site. I'm sure it does for others and so it would be nice to have the option to turn it off in the sense that it doesn't appear on the menu at all. The fact that it just sits there validates the fact that it's just clutter.

you can edit your header.tpl and remove the link.

I'd love to try it. Where do I find the file? What line of coding should I take out?

look for the line with 'calendar' in it and delete it

Thanks. I deleted that line with "calendar" in it and it appears to be working. I hope everything else is working.

Probably better to comment out code rather then delete it. That way you can find it in the future if you want to restore it.

Good idea. However I have a couple of issues:

1. I don't know how to "comment out" code (I'm not a programmer.)

2. I wouldn't know what to look for if I decided to restore it to the original.

So what I did instead, was made a duplicate of the original file and wrote comments on it -- comments I know where to find.

to comment out that line in the tpl, you can do {* original line *}
