I'm changing hosting providers for the 4th time and my site hasn't even launched yet. My last one didn't support rss feeds.
I've already done a bit of customizing my ubbthreads on the last host. Can I just transfer these files from my old host to my new host? or should I transfer the original files and go through the installation process?

You can transfer it. The steps would be:
1) Move the entire ubbthreads directory 2) Move the database 3) Edit the config file directly to point to the new database, and also change any paths/urls in the config file that need changing. 4) Login to the control panel and clear the cache to rebuild any islands. 5) Go to the Permissions page and make sure that all of the permissions are set correctly.

I just reinstalled the long way. The only problem was the includes directory has no files in it. When I try to transfer them I get an error. Are those necessary?
I just purchased this license and hadn't launched the forums publicly yet so I don't need to worry about transferring topics or user data.
UPDATE: Rick, never mind about what I said about the includes directory. I just checked again and the files inside it are showing up.
The only question I have now is importing a style. I tried to do it from the control panel of the old ip but when I log in it takes me to the new one. What files via ftp can I transfer to my new host? Thanks...happy BDay

You need to export then import, or build it manually, i think.

Thanks, I managed to access the old host and import the style from it.

Was going to say, you could just chmod the styles dir 777 then go and "edit" the style and then submit it and it'll rebuild (assuming you transferred your old forum vs installing it new)
