Is there a way to turn on email notifications for the case when someone registers on the site?

Keep in mind that if you do enable the moderation queue that all admin's will recieve emails when a new user requests to join.

1) Any word on this feature? Couldn't find any option in 7.2 to enable this.

Where does the welcome email that sent to new subscribers come from and how can I edit it. It says it is coming from someone named palio rather than the admin, how do I fix this?

I believe it should be sent by whomever the super admin is (as set in your cp); the "from" address should be your forum email addy.

As for the message, this is set in the cfrm language file; you can edit your language files from the control panel or via FTP.
