i have created 2 categories one called entertainment with 2 forums and one called sports with 1 forum.
but only entertainment and its forums is displayed on the forums homepage ?

checking the databases is see CATEGORIES lists all the categories but Category only lists the entertainment category?

in the forum setting for the forum you want under sports, are you sure you assigned that forum to category sports? If not it will not display a category that is empty.

yeap sports is the parent of forum basketball. and the forum enabled box is checked.
in the Category table only the Entertainment category is listed?

did you clear your cache to rebuild the forum tree ?

found the problem
the forum permissions for basketball were all off.
i thought they would be on by default at least for the administrator?

Ahh, that was going to be my next question. It was switched to all off by default. Better to be safe than sorry, glad you got it working

You know, i was thinking about why this doesn't offset to admin only; and there is a valid reason... If it shows to the admin, he'll likely assume it shows to everyone (as it's visible). Though, I do enjoy the new behavior that has all off vs all on, which was allowing guests to post when not wanted ... Though, all visible would be sufficient I think...
