Until I upgraded to 7.2, I was able to set a custom title for certain users that would over-ride the titles assigned by post count. But since 7.2, that seems to have gone away and now all users are titled according to their post counts. Is there still a capability to set a user with a custom member title? If so, how? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks! I installed and it works great! I am hoping that thsi will be incorporated into the production version. I'd like to be able to not only allow users to change their titles (or not), but I would also like to be able to modify their titles myself from the Member section of the Admin (even if I have it turned off to allow members to do it themselves). I thought that was the way it worked at one time?

In threads 6.5.x you had one membertitle. Could be post-based, but you could also put custom stuff in it if you wanted. We used it for custom titles.

In 7.x, you had 2 seperate items. The post-counter based one, and a custom one. The ubb 6.5.x titles were imported in the post-counter based one.

If you would set a title with 7.x after an import in the edit members section, you would get 2 membertitles under a name.

Before version 7.2, ubb would check if a user reached a certain post count, and if so, update the membertitle with a new post-based one. Since version 7.2, the post-based membertitle is forced with every post a user makes.

Since we had all our custom titles still in the post-based title field, this gave us a problem.

So we upgraded to 7.1 from classics

All the "custom" titles from classic are still there.. but now I can't get rid of them! If I enter a "custom title" for a member from the CP - it just puts it under the title that was put there in classic. So now they have 2.

How do I erase custom titles from classic now? Am I missing something?

Like Sirdude said, there is a hack over ubbdev that addresses the 2 titles stuff (be sure to read the whole topic!)

Changelog for 7.3 says this will be a buildin feature for 7.3
