Rose it's just so..... tidy! Oh well, it's to compensate for the male half of the room. Not so tidy. As well, we have our gaming consoles area too. A bit messy over there.

No, me neither. I tried in earnest when I got the old wrist shut-down, but it seemed to make it worse

Not once you've got used to one. Then you wouldn't have anything else. And it doesn't take long to get used to.

I just installed CS3 on the desktop; it's not bad, they changed some parts of the UI (first real changes i've really seen since CS1... I haven't gotten the chance to play with it too much; have to re-install windows on my laptop and another pc then I'll get to enjoy myself

driv, I got used to mine within a couple of days. I recommend the one I have. My husband got it for me, and he always researches everything. It's a Microsoft (shhh) keyboard, but I don't know if there is a "type". I can't see one stamped on it.

Bad Ian! Ian, I use CS3 a lot - especially Dreamweaver and Fireworks. Steve uses Flash heaps, as well as Photoshop.

I have 3 rows on the taskbar that's hidden.
Do you remember Norton Desktop for Windows 3.1? THAT was an AWESOME Shell replacement. To this day I don't think any of the Shell replacements do as much (some are pretty slick though - just often find them lacking in areas that just don't allow me to use them)

You should see my old boss' desktop. Windows XP but there had to be over 300 icons on the desktop.
Dang - you couldn't find squat as there were just too many to try and find something - they all blend in and have similar colors etc. Hot Keys, and a Launcher are some of the best ways to support multiple icons.
In general I have over 300 applications installed so it would drive me crazy to just let the applications dump on the desktop. I put the main ones I use on either a Launcher or the Taskbar
I have a cool script you can run if you have Excel on your system.

Just ran the script. Including HOTFIXES and Plugins I have 290 executable type files installed on my system.

How do you get away with so few icons - I must have around 70 on mine! In Aston (an alternative windows shell) I have the Top, Left, and Right panel options enabled; i throw all of my goodies in there hehe... Before aston, I made custom folders and thew icons in them :/...

Yeah Aston is one I've not tried yet. The site was down for like weeks when I was trying to get it (don't trust 3rd party locations for that type of download) so I gave up and never tried it.
Problem with most is that they either forget and wipe out the ability to run the same hot keys or commands you can from the XP shell (which sucks) or they really slow the computer down with their candy. I want an IMPROVEMENT in speed and useability not just some other Shell for the heck of it.
I'll probably give it a try though soon.

Aston is great; though I've never seen them down, i'm constantly at their site/forums... I think you'd love it hehe; so many integration plugins too...
The only downside is that the program mappings don't exist (like click start, type regedit; won't work, instead i have to put the full path to it); other than that I've not had a problem making anything work properly.
I've not had any speeddown issues, in fact on my computers they're running MUCH faster than with the explorer shell.
I <3 aston long time...

I don't have a picture of an ipod, I don't have an ipod. But I do have a picture of a topic about pictures of ipod's. Sorry all, I my picture is not up-to-date anymore. My laptop screen was replaced this afternoon because there was a bit of dirt or whatever in it.
