Hey friends,
When a new user registers, it automatically sends them a welcome message. I can't seem to find anywhere in the control panel to change or edit that message. Could someone tell me where I can find that?
Thanks,
Haelix

1. cpanel, language editor
2. search 'Welcome'
3. note: adduser.php has a wordlete 'WEL_MSG'

that's the one, assuming it's the PM they receive on signup wink

Perhaps some better, easier naming to find such items would be nice in the CP grin

Maybe a COMMON TASKS and links to those hidden features

If it's in the CP it's not hidden...

I've used the program for a long time now and had to really search around to find it myself as I've not changed it before either.

You guys that live, eat, breath the product are NOT the best candidates for ease of use feature descriptions (IMHO) you're too close to the program and often overlook how new users see the program features.

Have you had the "luxury" of playing with UBB.Classic? If so, open up ubb_lib.cgi; those are "hidden" features (all sorts of "ticks" that are not available in the control panel); in UBB.T every feature is layed out in the CP and grouped as close as possible to functions "like" it... Trust me, the things how they are layed out in threads aren't hidden as much as we're all used to wink...

BTW, I will agree that some things in UBB.T can be difficult to do for a newcomer; this was why i spent (literally) months practically begging Rick to allow me to run the FAQ forum we have here to place frequent questions and some guides on how to do everyday and rare tasks in a straight forward "click here click there" manner... I am always more than willing to add to it with any questions.

Maybe it would be useful to have a separate section in the control panel to edit specifics like this.. something like

"User notifications" so you can edit with HTML if you want the messages that get sent like that, password reminders, registration info etc, just adds to the user experience
