My wineintro forum is running 7.2 - I haven't upgraded it fully yet. You can see it here -

This is a known bug in 7.2. Do you create a new board, post something and delete it? This board now have a invalid counter. Should be easy to find. Simple solution if no postings in it: delete and recreate it.

But this is in a sidebar, so I'm not sure if it's the same bug (or at least if the aforementioned fixes will work for it)

The fix will work, the stats is showing there is the sum of what's listed in the forum table, not an actual count of postdata. You can have a looksy at the query used for it in /custom_builders/forum_stats.php
