We currently have a very old version of the software and are considering upgrading. We have a question about included links in posts and our ability to control them.

Is it possible to administer the allowable sites that a user may include in a post?

For example allow the inclusion of http://www.goodsite.com/article but to disallow the entry of http://www.badsite.com/badstuff?

Right now we are using the censor feature to blur "http://", "www.", ".com" and so on because of inability to control the websites linked by some of our users.

Thanks and if there is any further information you need let me know.

You could use Active Content which would automatically change their posted information to what you've preselected.

i.e. U B B DEV (no spaces, gets converted to a web page, you could do similar but not perfect or ideal but at least something done automatically for you) To be really sure you would have to manually watch, see all posts as it's pretty hard to think up every site a user may post about and automate a change.

I'd recommend using ActiveText to replace any "bad site names" with "no-linking-to-this-site" then they'd get the hint, and you could just block those you don't like
