One of my moderators was merging several threads together into one when one thread that consisted of several pages of posts went missing. We are using version 7.2 - any idea how I can find this? I tried searching the board hoping to find the posts within another topic but the thread topic and topic being discussed is two three character words and mysql is set for the default 4 character words when searching- that makes it harder.

Can you trace it from the Admin log?

The Admin log just has a list of the ten or so threads that were merged - including the missing one. It does not actually say where these threads were merged to. The missing thread was merged according to the log but the log does not show where it was merged to.

The mod says he cut and paste the post number to merge to so he thinks he likely did not make a mistake. I did change mysql configuration so I can search 3 character terms and still can't find the missing posts.

You could run some queries that don't use the full text index. Just search them manually in phpmyadmin and use LIKE instead of MATCH.
