Thanks.

I didn't think they did. I thought it was a uniquely British thing (ww1/farmers etc).

I've always noticed that our UK sites hosted on US servers never display the correct time when GMT/BST starts/ends and the US is always a few days behind. http://www.worldtimezone.com/daylight.html

Well, it can be numerous things, the likely culprit is that they could set the time change in the server to be DST instead of just offsetting it in PHP (or ASP, or Perl, whatever they've coded the app in) like it should be done (IMO)...

For the U.S. and its territories, Daylight Saving Time is NOT observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, and Arizona.

SD, I believe the only people in AZ that don't observe it are the American Indians; but that was little research i did a year ago when trying to explain to my mom about timezone's 9which flew well over her head)

yes, the reason the Indians don't is because their tribal land extends to more than just AZ and they decided it best to keep it all the same for the entire tribal land 'time zone'

Myself, I find no point in DST, as it was only instituted to "save fuel" in WWI, farmers don't even like it in our area lol

Part of Indiana observes daylight savings and part does not. Until April 2005, when Indiana passed a law agreeing to observe daylight saving time, the Hoosier state had its own unique and complex time system. http://www.mccsc.edu/time.html

The only exception in Arizona is the Navajo Nation, in northeastern Arizona, which does observe Daylight Saving Time. As for Texas you guys use it but you're so big that you use 2 of them. "Eastern (most of) Texas is in the Central Time Zone A small portion of western Texas is in the Mountain Time Zone" Reference: http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/usc.htmlThis site actually has a lot of information about Daylight Saving Time http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/index.html

In any case, DST gives us 2 parties at the IT department each year at work I work at a broadcast station, 4 radio stations and 2 television channels, and everything automated is automated because of that little feature in the computer called the clock We used to have a dance classics night party for wintertime (which is the worst with 25 hours in a day) to avoid having to fix those days in the software. But that tradition stopped a few years ago.

Okay - now I'm confused LOL
The clocks here went back 24 hours this morning - yet the clocks in the USA do not change until the 4th.
However my timeshift here is still showing -7 hours and the time of my posts is correct and not an hour out.
Am I confused, mad or just plain wrong LOL

Actually, I was totally unaware about the time change - as usual! I showed up at the sportcentre an hour early! (Normally my mom calls me to remind me - as she knows I have a memory like a sieve, but she's in hospital )

Our timechange generally updates at like 2am or something?, but this year they changed the day we changed as well (usually we'd change saturday, but nooo, they had to change the date)

I spent most of last night in between Embers Dance Club (missed the drag show though darnit, paid the $5 cover at 2am and was there for not more than half an hour (as they where just announcing last call when we where leaving; but they had Transformers on a projector screen!)) and The Sauce Box (a simple bar down several blocks)... Then retired to Dennies after taking in a street fight over by The Roxy lol...
We where going to eat at a resturant by there (as The Roxy was packed and was a long wait to get food) but the street fight swamped the area with lookie loo's and cop's... Though we did run into some old friends and stood around talking for like 20 minutes...
Didn't get in till ~4a lol

I still think I am - but my body tells me otherwise I used to drink, snort & smoke 'til 3am and get up at 7am no probs. Nowadays, I have to stop by 11 or I can't get out of bed all day!
