Go into your control panel and then into the Gallery Settings and make sure everything is set to what you want and then submit. By default it doesn't know whether to use gd2 or imagemagick until you configure that screen. It may already have the values you need filled in and you might not need to change anything, and can just submit.

I still say that it should assume you want GD2 as to not throw an error to the user lol.

Well ok that error went away, the system acts like it is saving the image but the forum comes up with a missing image.. Where is the system saving the file. I looked in the files directury and i see nothing? Yeah now it seems to be going through the motions but it does not actually save the file or give an error just looks like it has completed but iimage is not there...

make sure the /tmp directory is chmodded 777, then the gallery/ and all sub folders are chmodded 777 as well.

When you're in the process of uploading, is any data written to the /tmp directory?

I tried putting the same JPG onto UBBcentral and im getting hte same results... Is there a file size issue or something else that i am not seeing? Is the uploader only able to handle small files and not able to deliver the hi-res image and then resize it once it hits the board? Let me know FIles is direct from camera about 2.2 mb

Ok i am proud of myself now hehe, UBB willn ot accept a 2.2 mb file or at least it seems it wont and i wass able to get a 1mb file up after updateing the file size for the gallery however the really large files do not evan throw up an error, i got an error off the smaller file when i found my setting to be to low in gallery image size, but when i send the larger files, i get nothing except what looks like a good transfer.. This is what happen on UBB central site acted like it took the bigger file but then no file... Any other lideas or is a bug i discovered in the upload file procedure? Does that time out after a certain while?

Well, I don't think this is a UBB problem, I think it's your server... Please access your control panel and you'll see "PHP Info" as the last entry to the left in the menu.
Paste the following here: post_max_size upload_max_filesize
The second is what deals with file uploading, the first deals with how much data you can send in a post request.
