UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.threads Version 7/8 Support No Emails going out

We can no longer get any emails to go out. We have to manually approve everyone because they can't get the activation emails.

I have tried playing with the class.smtp.php and class.phpmailer.php files but I don't think I understand the big picture.

If I want to use those files, how do I tell UBB that I want to use them (or maybe I'm missing the point).

Also, I've tried entering an SMTP server in the advanced options in the control panel but I would need to enter a username, password etc. before it would work so I know that won't work.

Any suggestions would be great because I'm at a complete loss.

the class.phpmailer.php should always be used; it also holds a username and password section for SMTP, which is how you'd utilize the u/p for an smtp server.

You could ask your webhost if there an smtp server from them you can use.
