I'm not sure how to word this, so I'll just wing it!

When you are viewing the topic list in a forum and click on the topic subject, you are inserted into the topic at the first unread post. Personally this works fine for me, I don't care to wade through all of the previous topics since I've probably already read them.

However, I had a couple of users complain that "the way it used to be..." was that when you clicked on the topic subject you were taken to the very first post.

Again, personally if there are many pages of posts, I don't care to page through them until I get to the first new post.

BUT, if this were a individual preference setting, then great. Everybody is happy.

If this is in v7.2 or v7.3 then never mind...

I know what you mean about this, i done a few super posts about it and to this day i think it does need to be looked at.

If you have a topic, and it has unread posts,
there isnt a "Single" click option to get to the first post

You have to read the unread and then navigate to the first post.
Only if there are "NO" unread posts can you click and read the
first post.

IMO its an area that needs addressing, and i too have members
confused as hell about how and why it works this way.

The Norm IMO
Left Topic link = 1st Post.
And the Right link should take you to the first unread posts.

It can be done. This is a Rick call though.

Please just think of this from a newbies point of view.

Its those member that "HAVE" to find the software manageable and understandable

Or they will just go where its easier.

Well actually once you've read ALL the posts it does act that way in that it will once again take you to the first post

I think it's very intuitive and works properly. If you've never read any of the posts it does take you to the first unread, if you've read them then it takes you to the last UNREAD. Once all have been read it then goes back to the first post.

At least it sure seems to work that way.
