In Safari, at least, the navigation buttons under the posts are getting scrunched on occassion. There is no rhyme or reason that I can see. Sometimes they're good, sometimes not. I think that making them smaller or removing them are my options. Can this be done through control panel?

PS - this is the previous topic, index, next topic buttons that appear beneath the post.

what i do is really just css out the mini-images. to me the text is enough.

so i add this to my Extra Properties section.

.post-buttons img {display:none;}

also, i don't bold the text either.

it's a kind of art form, where you are getting down to the nitty gritty with your css and different browers as well as a very important user screen resolution variation.

that's why its easier to have just ONE theme on your site for awhile -- at least -- get all your kinks out, learn the quirks.. then venture to multiple themes, if at all.. later one smile

I only have one theme on my site. Or was that just a global comment and not meant for me? Just want to make sure, because I know you went over to my site to check things once. I hope it didn't look like I have more than 1 theme. I have loaded more than one style to check things out, but currently have the ubbcentral style as default and it apply everywhere in my forum.

well the comment WAS for you. what i was saying is that in general (when getting started like you are) it's best to do you learning curve on one theme.. get all the kinks out..

and then move on to multi-theme.. if it's even desired at all.

and the other recommend, only based upon what i do is where i kill the little mini images to the left of the button text. of course, you don't really have to do that, but if real estate was becoming an issue, you could decide to kill them.. if you DID decide to go that route, then the css change i posted above would do that for you.

of course, you can decide to ignore what i said and that's ok too wink

essentially the bottom line is that css / styles / types of users / user's varied screen resolutions / differing browsers come into play and can -- at times -- cause people like you/me (site maintainers/designers) to have some headaches.. all in all, its not terrible, but just something to be cognizant of smile
