Hello again,

I would like to make a user level access, that would give them permission to post, read, and reply to only the threads they start.

IE: I have a forum that a new member's access would allow them NOT to see any thread started by another member, but they can start a new thread(in this forum), post a reply, and see a reply made in the thread they had created.

What purpose would that serve? If a user can start a thread that no-one else can see or read what would they be replying to?

Sounds like you're trying to create a "Help Desk" type of scenario where the users can post a thread and "Tech Support" (Admin) can reply on a one to one basis. If this is the case your users might as well just PM you.

Well, I guess I should clarify.

The admin and mods would have the ability to read and reply to all the post in that forum as well as other users on a selective basis. It would just limit the access of the new members until they have been upgraded.

At this point this it's not possible with the current codebase, nor do I believe such a permission will be in 7.3 enhanced permissions settings.

You could ask at ubbdev if a developer is available to make such a change for you.

That's why this is feedback and a suggestion. /wink

Where 7.3 does have a more granular permission system, there is no permission to allow users to only reply to their own posts...

There are several you could play with, but I doubt you'll be able to achieve this via a stock install:
Can reply to existing topics
Can read topics
Can create new topics

So you could make it so that they can create but not read anything, but not so that they can create and only read that which they've created...

Yeh, he's evidently trying to piss me off by violating my copyright over the image...

I believe it's to make a point over the avitar conversation, but it's rubbing me in entirely the wrong direction.

No it's not a shame you can't lock my profile. It wouldn't necessary to do so.
