There are a couple of Christmas ones in this forum - albeit for 7.0, but I am sure they can be easily updated smile

I have a winter theme here and ubbdev; I don't like the idea of green/red, so I made it a seasonal one wink

Doesn't that version need updating?

With 7.3 it will be... Seems worthless to update all of my public styles to 7.2.2 when 7.3 is on the horizon and I'd have to do it again... In any case, there shouldn't be much that needs updating to 7.2, so it should be a matter of just copying the new alt styles that where added and it should look fine for the casual user...

No it isn't, it will save you work actually when 7.3 hits the streets. And for an Xmas stylesheet, I'd definately would update that stylesheet now, because people are turning over to special holiday themes around these days.

As i said, the 7.2.2 update is minuscule and just about anyone can do it as it's simply a matter of clicking the copy button will make it usable to 99% of users who would want to use it...

I have plans to update all of the styles well further than they display now (for example, additional padding in areas for one to make them more visually appealing and updating several of the gradients, and having an overflow color vs allowing images to repeat) which I just do not have the time for now...

It might not be minuscule to everyone wink

Maybe a good compromise is to add a post to the relevant thread(s) teaching folks what they have to do.

As we both know, people tend to just download scripts etc., and expect them to fully function out of the box smile

My point exactly. I for one am pretty much clueless when it comes to stylesheets, css, whatever. Else I would love to update them all to 7.2.2 since I think a support forum should have stylesheets available for the current version.

If you keep on waiting for the version to come, there's never an update.

Point to the stylesheets you'd like updated and I'll lend a hand - it should be relatively painless.

Thank you for the suggestions
I would like the one posted by Zarzal. Nice!

Another question: how do you ad a style like that with wrappers, images, and all?

What do you do after downloading and extracting the files?
I have an image folder with 3 sub folders, a styles folder with an image subfolder, and a text file called xmas-1-w-wrapper

and only the option to import a style in the control panel for styles...

This is not as easy as it seems :-)

just upload all folders as is to your ubb installation folder with ftp. Then import the style with wrapper, thats all and should work fine.

Fantastic
Looks great
Thank you for sharing that and for the instructions.

Do you have other themes like that? Did you make that one? Very talented, great job!

I imported the Zarzal style and it looks great (actually, the importer was very easy. Thank you for the instructions).
But is there any way to make the red fonts looks more readable on the green background or it's just me?

red and green ist always a problem. Many people have problems with it. Its a sort of color-blind. You can find testpictures like this http://www.neuro24.de/bilder11/farbenblind.jpg or this http://www.deecee.de/uploads/pics/Farbenblind.jpg to check it out.

Yeh, the whole Red/Green clash is why I made my Winter theme, as it's much easier on the eyes lol

i think red and green are great to have as a part of the theme. just not where they come in direct contact.. ie: bg of red + fg (font color) of green.

other than that, this theme rawks!

I implemented Gizmo's winter theme, but a question...

I've deactivated all of my other styles and made the winter the default. However, when I log-in, I still see my preferred style sheet (which isn't winter). Is that only because I'm an admin, or will regular users experience the same?

Hold...becoming a regular user to see what happens... smile

Nope...a regular user still sees his default style.

How can I force the winter style on all?

Mmmm...when I went into my profile, one style I deactivated is still visible. When I switched to that, then went back in and changed to default, I now see the winter theme.

Yeah, it was cute for a while. I opted for the simple falling snowflakes instead.

Well, if the user has SET that they want to use a theme, it'll be SET for them reguardless of if it's available or not...

However if they go to change their profile for any reason, they will not be able to select their existing stylesheet - they will be forced to select only ones that are enabled.
