When creating a theme, how do I go about using an image for the background, instead of a regular ubb color tag?

Also, how do I use images for things like the nav bar, and link table headers, etc.?

i looked, but couldn't find any "how to" guides on this.

css allows this:

background: url(styles/whateverstylename/images/coolimage.gif);

that makes no sense to me tongue I take it that means I have to upload the file somewhere? I can't just link to the image?

arn't there any good readme's on stuff like this?

Google is great, it'll popup various w3c sites that cover elements you're looking at... an example search would be say "css background image"...
