Weather has been really bad where he lives and there is a lot of flooding. Rick has no electricity or (obviously) internet access. We don't know at this point when it will be back. Might be today, more likely a couple of days.

We've been having some problems down here as well, the weather up there seems to reflect ours nicely

Just an update. This picture was taken in the town that Rick lives ![[Linked Image from i.l.cnn.net]](http://i.l.cnn.net/cnn/2007/US/weather/12/05/winter.storms.ap/art.road.ap.jpg) And this is a town not far from his ![[Linked Image from i.l.cnn.net]](http://i.l.cnn.net/cnn/2007/US/weather/12/05/winter.storms.ap/art.centralia.ap.jpg) The good news is, as you can see in the bottom picture, the sun has come out and they expect the waters to start to receede today.

Most of our flooding down in Portland, ORE has been taken care of; several highways where under quite a bit of water lol... I think I5 between Portland, ORE and Seattle, WA is still closed due to truckers ignoring the official detour and jackknifing...

Well, it's totally under 2 feet of water. I don't know what that would have to do with using a detour or not. I mean, detour or not it is still unpassable.

As do I Zarzal. Past experience taught me that. Ian, you can actually see where the river flows in some of those pictures. Or, better put... you can if you know where to look. In the first picture of the popup you can see a hard line of trees across the top of the picture. That's where the far side of the river normally is. The near side is less defined as development has taken most of the trees down. In picture number 10, on the very right edge of the screen and just above the interstate highway you can see a small arched bridge which, I'm pretty sure, passes over the river that has overflowed. Not all that wide at all, is it?

Well, where I'm at we're on a set of big hills, but the whole area is old swampland that they backfilled... so the water table is all sorts of wonky lol... Where we won't be under a ton of water like a lot of other areas would be, we still get hit pretty bad lol...
I spent the better half of the day pumping my basement of more water, then i had to re-light the pilot light on our hot water heater twice today... In a flooded basement lol...

Been there, done that. That's why I made sure that when I bought this house it would be in a location where I would not have that problem again. Power goes out every time Mother Nature gets frisky, but I'm high and dry. As is teh fireplace and firewood.

Power starting to come back on in the area, but not at my house yet. Family has been up north with the in-laws while I hunker down at the house and keep the vandals at bay. I've got temporary access from a local office so trying to catch up on everything before they kick me off
