I am tired of a competitior basically copying stuff from our site - is it possible to implement a no select text script - to make it less easier for them to do this?

yes, that's possible to add as a mod. you'd probably want it to just disable selection for: 1. non registered users ? 2. only post content ?  problem is that there are workarounds that allow a semi-savvy person to get whatever they want anyway.

all users and for all text in certain forums ( or is it global)?

I can get around any anti content jacking script; and it's not hard, hell you can google how to do it  ...

any eh! Not sure I'd claim ANY, but probably 99.9% Without using a protocol sniffer I did run into one that was pretty darn close to impossible to grab their stuff. Don't recall the site - was a while ago and just some fluke site I happened upon. Overall though I agree - nearly impossible to stop someone from taking your content. Heck if worse comes to worse they can always do a screen cap and make the image.

All they'd have to do is click "View" and "View Source" and they'd get around your anti selection script...

You can also add code that will disguise your HTML code when anyone does "View Source" but there's a downside to this too. If you stop visitors from viewing it, you also stop search spiders from viewing it.

Try this: In Control Panel / General / HTML Includes / Header Insert: Add: <body oncontextmenu="return false" ondragstart="return false" onselectstart="return false"> Works in Firefox and IE7
