Hi,
Similar to the auto-delete is the ability to unstick posts automatically or to unstick global announcements.
In fact it would be good, when making a sticky or G A to require a time frame say 60 mins, 6 hrs, 1 day, 7 days, 31 days or until manually unstickied - or to select an ending day/time. Both options should ideally be given, but perhaps be required (or an admin option to enable)

What does a "global announcement" actually do by the way?

Global Announcement takes and makes it so that the "annoncement" is shown in every forum.
As for the feature request here, I like it; PHPBB has a global anounce enhancement which shows the global anouncement to show on the main category index.

Good idea i like the timer on them.
I always forget to un-sticky topics and then say "OMG" lol
Global announcements should be repayable
or you have to double post so to speak.
