I run my site on its own box. In the past year I have frequent down times which my host attributes to the forums. I think it is the box. Below are my stats and hardware. Is this not sufficient to run ubbthreads.

The hardware looks fine. Can you give us more information on the downtime? Is it the server crashing, mysql or something else?

I checked the logs. We have a few "unable connection" but not at the same time the server goes down. The issue based on the host company is to much processing. Again I question that because it goes down at various times even 3.30 am EST when barely any one is using the forums.

You could run an old Pentium 90 and should be able to support that many posts. Sorry, but it's not the hardware.

It could be a configuration issue or hosting issue.

heres a vote on the configuration... Your hardware is more than attiquette, your forum is puney compared to sites I've seen ran on half of that beast...

This is a SoftLayer server, right? A client of mine has 3 SoftLayer servers and two of them had hardware issues starting from faulty memory to failed RAID controller crazy

If you server is going down randomly and need a reboot then I would suspect a hardware issue as well.
