My members just love having the numbers indicating unread threads and posts on the forum list page. Unfortunately this creates problems for my site -- we generate hundred of posts per day, but many users only visit one or two forums, and allow thousands and tens of thousands of unread threads to accumulate in the forums they don't visit.
They start complaining that their pages are taking a long time to load. When they are online, the site slows down for everyone. They just can't seem to remember to use the "Mark All Read" link, no matter how many times they are gently reminded or harshly ordered to do so.
I need a script to automatically run that when it sees "x" number of unread threads, it will automatically run "Mark All Read for a user. I'd like it to be in the Control Panel, with the number of threads being an option that can be entered by the admin.
This would be a godsend. Is it possible?
