Hey all,

I'm writing to get your feedback on something. I'd like to set up a page that has chat within it. I'd like it to be a full-size page (or close to it). I was thinking about setting up a portal or content island or something so that non-forum members wouldn't have access to the chat.

Any thoughts on how to best accomplish this? I'm not looking for how to set up chat - that's already set up on a separate page on the site and I already successfully integrated the page as a Threads portal; I just want to get your thoughts on how to best integrate it as part of the forum for added security.

I'm on Threads v 7.2.2.

It took a bit to get working, but I got FlashChat integrated into my forum where you have to log into UBB to join chat. Well worth the $5!!

It was so long ago (July lol) I'd have to look into how it works again, I just remember it being a royal pain in the arse. If I remember correctly there was in integration script but it wasn't up-to-date. Gizzy and I had many problems, but it somehow eventually came together for Threads 7.1 (which I'm still using).

When 7.3 is released I'll have to look it over again to make sure it still works, and will try and post something on ubbDev. But in the mean time, you can read over the initial thread at Dev, and also the original threads at Tufat here and here...

It's worth noting that I wasn't able to get the developmental version (4.8) to work, so download 4.7 if you want to try it out.

there are several mod solutions at ubbdev; including a PJIRC mod which is free and open source if i recall

i think i'll resurrect that one.. it was close to handing off to the Yarp™-UNiT for final additions to sexify it

Great! I've looked around, and basicly nothing came close to what we wanted without loads of work.

Hi all I have flash chat version 4.8.3 and did not have any issues loading it up and it works well.

I am running UBB 7.2.2
