UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.threads Version 7/8 Support HTTP Referrer Check

Couldn't find my answer by searching...

What exactly is the http referrer check and what would be the downside of turning it off? I was having problems with people not being able to post and the problems seem to have gone away with this disabled.

Thanks,
Jeff
