I just got a note from one of our awesome admins on the new release and I just popped in here to check it out. My wife is the latest proprietor of www.BMWSportTouring.com (formerly www.bmwrt.com ) and we're coming up on 11 years on the web. An earlier proprietor went over to UBB very early on and it has just gotten better and better over the years. We've gotten a few requests from the members now and again over the years that we should go over to XXX software but when I/we check it out it just doesn't have this wonderful feel to it. And with all the added power and functionality you keep adding it makes it harder and harder to even consider jumping ship.
I sometimes miss the old emoticons (they had more character somehow) and the real name field (ours is a family site), but many if not most of the other niggles have always been addressed over time.
I am happy for you. Actually, since the Vbulletin fiasco, I have made up my mind not to pay VB guys anymore (if you know anything about what I am saying). Naturally, I am on a hunt for good software. I reviewed IPB, PHPBB, UBB, etc., and feel that UBB is the most user friendly for me. Do you know if I can import my Vbulletin data into UBB in any way? Has anybody ever done it? Very much appreciated.
There are several importers available to download in the members area so that you can import your info from vb to ubb. It has been done many times already by quite a few members (especially recently).
