I wound up turning off this feature per my users wishes, yet I have a few suggestions for improvement.

1 - Give the individual user the choice to turn on and off.
2 - Instead of having to view a preview of the first post, my users would also like to have an option to either preview the next new post or the last new post in a thread.

The Hover over thing?
If its the same, i agree a member on or off oprion.
And as you say, ive noticed it shows the results from the
first post of the topic.

I think the first post or last reply would be better,
at least it would change when skimming over the topics then.

Yep. This is new in 7.3 and I don't think it is turned on here.

It does however make me laugh why make a feature
and not turn it on? (These forums)..
Ratings is not turned on either?

I'm glad it's not turned on here, and it won't be on mine. If it works the way it does on Dev, anyway. I just find it a tad annoying. Not all features are for everyone... But I do agree that it should be a member option to turn it ON.

I particularly don't like it either, which is why it's turned off The end user option didn't make it into this version, but we'll get it into the next one.

Hope the end user option will also be an admin option to turn on/off. It will add to datatraffic.
