I'm using 7.2.2

How do I reduce a members profile page so that it reveals only the "Profile for [member]" table and not the "Contact This User" and "Extra Information" table.

I thought that checking the "hide" button in the control panel would do it. But apparently that is not the case.

Any ideas?

You could remove the fields you do not want from the showprofile template...

That was it. While I was there I also edited the editbasic template. Problem solved.
