The custom avatars on my forum are 48 x 48 pixels. I have the maximum dimensions set up to 80 x 80 pixels. For some reason when users select one of the stock avatars for their profile the avatar expands to 80 x 80 even though it is 48 x 48 in the control panel.
How can I fix this? Thanks.

Check the dimensions in your database. I had a problem when I imported 64x64 avatars after increasing my max to 72x72 for 7.0. I had to run a SQL command to change the sizes or whatnot, some even showed 0x0 in the database after the import... so look in there to see if things look right or not...

Thanks for the help. I'm just a novice though and I'm not sure how to check the database. I checked out the templates that 'thelockman's post referred to but I'm not sure how to hack them to fix the problem.

If you have access to phpMyAdmin through your host's control panel, you can access the database directly. Just be careful... You want to Browse the table ubbt_USER_PROFILE and check the values for USER_AVATAR_WIDTH and USER_AVATAR_HEIGHT to see if things look right or not...

I'm not sure I'm viewing it right but I've attached a screenshot below. I don't know why it would expand to 80x80 if it shows 4.

4 is the max digits
1234 = int (4) (So that's Fine)
You need to view the table now. I think you can click on the USER_AVATAR_HEIGHT
I haven't been there for a while. you see

Click on the BROWSE tab on top of that page in phpMyAdmin, and then you can see a bunch of profiles at once. Scroll to check the USER_AVATAR_HEIGHT and USER_AVATAR_WIDTH columns to see if things look right or not...

jgeoff, I see what you're saying now. I checked that out and it looks like for all users who are using stock avatars the height and width are showing up as 80x80 even though they shouldn't. Users uploading their own avatars are showing up OK.

There should be a "browse" tab at thwe top of that page. You're simply viewing the table schematics on the initial page.

Thanks, I've since clicked on the browse tab. The width and height are showing up as 80 pixels for all profiles using stock avatars even though the stock avatars are not 80x80. How can I fix this?

There should be a "browse" tab at thwe top of that page. You're simply viewing the table schematics on the initial page. It's not your birthday anymore, so no more redundant answers 7 hours too late. The width and height are showing up as 80 pixels for all profiles using stock avatars even though the stock avatars are not 80x80. How can I fix this? It's probably something like this, which you can run under Control Panel » Database Tools » SQL Command. I'm no expert, so perhaps confirmation from someone else would be wise before doing this...:
update ubbt_USER_PROFILE set USER_AVATAR_WIDTH='48',USER_AVATAR_HEIGHT='48' where USER_AVATAR_WIDTH='80' and USER_AVATAR_HEIGHT='80'
Note: The above should change ALL 80x80 avatars to 48x48.

Thanks for the help jgeoff. Rather than taking a chance with the database I adjusted the stock avatars to 80x80 so they show up right now.
