Hi I have just had the forum moved over to MySQL version 5 in the last couple of days and I am getting this one error that repeats itself which I am listing below. Also note that I am running UBB version 7.2.2

Any help would be appreciated on how this can be stoped as it is annoying.

That appears to be somewhat of a bug. The value of the Uid in the cookie is being set to "deleted" instead of actually being deleted.

What you can do to fix this is edit the libs/ubbthreads.inc.php script. Line 2056 looks like this:'

if (!$Uid) $Uid = 1;

Change that, to this:

if (!$Uid || $Uid == "deleted") $Uid = 1;

Rick this is what is on line 2056 from the old file:

$sth = $dbh->do_placeholder_query($query,array($Uid),__LINE__,__FILE__);

The line that I changed was on line 2047 which had this before I changed it to what you said to do:

if (!$Uid || $Uid == "deleted") $Uid = 1;

and I changed the line to:

if (!$Uid || $Uid == "deleted") $Uid = 1;

Hmm, it sounds like you might have a mix/match of scripts. You say that you're running 7.2.2, but the header info you have for the libs/ubbthreads.inc.php says it's an older version.

It should have this:

// Ultimate Bulletin Board
// Script Version 7.2.2

It sounds like you need to verify that you actually have all of the 7.2.2 scripts uploaded. The give_rules function that it's looking for wasn't added until 7.2, so that's probably why it's giving the error.

Rick you were spot on as I uploaded the older version 7.1 . I have since uploaded 7.2.2 and all is working well.

Hi all,

I have a new error coming up after doing what Rick told me to do.

The error is:

Script: - Line: Unable to connect to the database! - Can't connect to MySQL server on 'wic002my.server-sql.com' (10060)

Note this is the only error that I am getting now. Can someone advise me on what I should do to stop it. I am currently using version 7.2.2 until the final release of 7.3. I just would like to make sure that everything is working correctly before the update comes in.

The error tells you what's wrong, the UBB can't connect to the database server ... This would generally be an issue with your host; either the SQL server is down or the server just can't be contacted...

Would that also mean that they could be working on it at the time it could not connect.

I have been having other issues with my online sales where I am not getting notified (by email) and the purchaser is not getting notified (by email) as well since they shifted my whole site to the new server.

Anything could mean that they're working on the server, even if it where connecting they could be working on it ...

Thanks Gizmo for your input as I thought that it might have been them as nothing else has come up since the change of server to version 5.
