Hi,

Now that we have groups that we can assign specific permissions to individual groups, it would be nice to be able to include portal boxes / header / footers in these permissions.

For example I would like to be able to hide all adverts for members who contribute to the site, however at the moment all I can do is to hide adverts within threads.

Extending this would help finance sites, and in turn I sure will increase the userbase of threads.

BTW - if anyone has any clues on this, please let me know

well, for portal boxes -- it wouldn't be too hard

you could enhance the send_column in html.inc.php to look for user group(s) and then decide to display or not as it iterates over all the boxes for each column..

of course, you'd manually have to know the portal_box_xxx that is or is not displayed..

adding this to the admin cpanel would be a little dicier, but doable too..
