Hi everyone! I'm going to post this question at UBBDev, but I thought I'd mention it here, in case there's already a way to do it in the Ubbthreads software.
Is there a way to periodically clear the messages in the ShoutBox? I don't use the shoutbox on the portal page, but want to experiment with the "Naked Shoutbox." I have all of the other coding in place, however, the only problem is that when I opened the shoutbox, it had the last posts still listed (and the shoutbox has been turned off since like the beginning of March.)
I would like to empty the shoutbox from time to time, so that people aren't seeing months-old conversations. This may be a coding thing, but thanks for any help!

I believe the shoutbox only stores the last 30 or so posts; anything after that, each new post will scroll one off, to maintain 30 posts in the box... so as long as it's used, old content will scroll off.

just go to your admin cpanel -- database tools - SQL command TRUNCATE TABLE ubbt_SHOUT_BOX you can even save it with a description, so you can re-use it at a later date

I love the description field; I just wish it was easier to edit the description ...
