Hi all I have just installed 7.3 latest version and everything went well with the install all permissions are ok.

One minor issue is that the shout box is not showing the old shouts (can post new shouts)but apart from that it all seems ok. Has anyone had this problem

Do your users have permission to view the shoutbox - they may have permission to use it, but not to view it.

The shoutbox is purged on the initial update to 7.3, so any old shouts prior to the update will be gone.

Rick thanks for that but I am still having issues with the shout box showing up messages even after I posted a shout, which I did yesterday and today no shout appears.

Do I need to do something with the settings/permissions etc.

One question with the permissions how do the numbers work. The lower the number the less permission some has as some have a higher number than others.

To view the shoutbox set to 1, to not see the contents of shoutbox set to 0

If you set it to -1 any member who belongs to that group will not see the shoutbox, even if they belong to another group that has a setting of 1.

The only time I use -1 is on displaying adverts inline for paying members, and for the group called 'alcatraz' which is the group that I add banned members to, so that all they see is the alcatraz forum.
