UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.threads Version 7/8 Support A few shout box questions

Is it possible to

a) extend the shout box (ie. make it bigger)

b) record what goes on in there somehow?

Thanks

A - what do you mean, have more than the 30 topics or make it physically bigger (taller, wider, etc)

B - what do you mean here too?

A - I mean make it bigger so that more content is visible in it.

B - I mean have a record of what is written in the shout box. (Currently there is no record, it just disappears as new content is written)

Not sure how else to ask.....

A - You can edit the template: island_shoutbox.tpl in these lines:

<div id="shout_box" style="height:300px; width: 100%; overflow:auto;">
<div id="shout_content" style="height: 336px;">

You'd edit the "300px" and "336px" numbers. Be sure you keep a backup and keep the px part at the end.

B - This would need to be a modification. Might be better to ask at ubbdev.com

OK thank you

if you wish to increase the number of shouts kept then edit /scripts/getshout.inc.php and change

$shout_limit = 30;

to the number of shouts you wish to keep.
