Is there a way to have "anonymous" not appear, the space be blank and have to be filled in when an unregistered guest posts?

hmm.. that was in an older version of threads or classic, but I can't find the option in the threads 7 series

Sure would like that option back !! Hint, hint.

Is there a way to change this in the language setting to something that would be more appropriate? such as guest?

It does appear in 7.3

in generic.php

$ubbt_lang['ANON_TEXT'] = 'Anonymous';

This controls the word appearing on the forums.
