OK I am getting my head around permissions, but would like some clarification on one thing.

As someone suggested I have a new group with a post count of 20 and when someone has 20+ posts they get put into that group.

I want to know how I can "turn off PMs for individual members" and would like to know how to do that. I would think create a group that has the PMs turned off, but when a member is part of 2 groups, how do we set it so that one takes preference over another? (ie. if this user has over 20 posts, he will be in the "can use PMs group". But I want him in the other group for PMs....

Does that make sense!? smile

If the member joins say a group that requires 40 posts and that group allows PM's they will then get PM's even if they belong to a group that does not allow them.

Is there a way I can prevent that? Does this -1 thing do it?

Yes, if you were to put them into a second group as well and put -1 for the PM permission, then they would not be able to PM.

Just to be sure, in which group do I put the -1?

Thanks Rick

If they are part of any group that has a -1 that takes priority over any other group.

For example I have a paying group they have -1 set to not view inline ads - this means that even if they are part of a group that has a 1 or a 0 against viewing inline ads they will not view them.

(That sorting of Who's Online is going seriously strange by the way, seems totally random)
