Just a question regarding forum permissions it has a button called switch. What is this for because when pushed nothing happens.

Use the dropdown alongside to select another forum and then click 'switch' to switch to this forum for setting its permissions.

It is just a generic one that is used for any new forums you create.

Thanks for that Ian it is really appreciated all the assistance that the member give here on this forum.

I just have one other question that someone might be able to answer for me.

In the permissions area you have numbers 'o' is for inactive '1' is for active but what is '2', '3', '4', '10' stand for as it has me stumped on how the different numbers work. If someone can put some light on the numbers it would be great.

Permissions is only -1, 0 or 1.

Not sure where you are seeing 2, 3, 4 & 10.

As long as it's a positive number then the permission will be granted. Some allow a higher number than 1, like total private messages. Calendar events is strictly, -1,0,1 however. But it will treat 3 as a positive permission.

I sure do wish there would be a way to apply the permission you've set up for one forum for ALL forums.

Unless I'm missing something, I have to go through one forum at a time.

The closest you can do right now is copy, but that still requires going into one forum at a time. You'd set one to how you want it, edit the next that will be the same, and then copy the permissions to it.

Definitely will need to add some functionality to make this quicker and easier.
