sure .. custom tags allow stuff like youtube, google video etc etc.. or if you are an admin, you can do pure html and have a ball..

Actually I want this to be an admin only thing. how would I go about creating a custom tag for a flash file that only modsds/admin can use?  Thank you

the way i did custom tags doesn't allow you to make them admin/mod only dealios..
i only enable / disable them in the menus...
i'm thinking that it would be good to enhance some sort of 'tag permissions' at some point..
i definitely know Yarp™ has wanted some sort of tag usage for regular tags.. ie: what tags are allowed in sigs.. shoutbox etc etc..

If you only allow Admins to post HTML (highly recommended), then you simply just paste the HTML for the Flash and choosing "using HTML" (dropdown) when posting... unless I'm misunderstanding.

agreed, of course.. i think he wanted it to be more easy peasy for his admins/mods who are less html inclined.. i've seen some peeps forays into HTML and header inserts where there are 3 BODY tags, 2 DOCTYPES, and on and on :hihi: tags make it easier.. just a thought
