I'm using UBBThreads 7.1.1
Are there limits to how many categories and or forums I can create?

I have already only 12 categories and tried to create a new one. It will not show up in the category list or on the entry page. There is no 'page 2' i9n the category list in the control panel.

Also I have created another forum, but again can not assign it to a category as the new category, though accepted, is not in the category list. As a consequence, this new forum it has defaulted into General Category. However, even though it shows up on the main forums list for users, it does not show up in the forums list in the CP so I can can not manage it, delete it or assign it. There is no 'page 2' that I can see.

Anyone out there give me a hint?

It sounds like maybe the cache isn't updated (the control panel forum list comes directly from the cache). Try rebuilding it, if that doesn't work, FTP into your site and just empty out your cache directory (except for the index.html file) and then rebuild the cache.

I cleared the cache. Before i look at FTP, which my be beyond me rigth now, I looked at Permission Checks and see a lot of 'failed', including:
index.htm FAIL
forum_list.php FAIL

There are other faileds. Could this have something to do with the problem? If so, any suggestions. Thanks.

Yeh, if the files can't be written to, they're of little use; you should go and chmod all the files that fail 666, and all of the directories that fail 777.

If it still won't work, it could be a problem with the "math" used to define pagination; theres a bug in PT's as well on this which fails for the post which starts a new page (at least there was prior to 7.3, I haven't had the chance to test it in 7.3 yet)
