Hi there

Is there a way to delete the meta tag
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow" /> in the UBB Forum source page?

I do not want to have any spiders or robots searching our forum.

This line simply "directs" them; if you remove it they will still crawl your site; it's worthless to delete.

If you want to ban bots, do it through a robots.txt rule:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /forum

which also gets ignored by rogue bots..

ideally, you simply make all your forums require a user sign up.. you might also enable captcha at both signup and posting for a default 'lower than whale dung' group wink

no guests at all allowed..

then at most a rogue bot will 'crawl' the open stuff, which ain't much.. maybe you have a portal page with articles about basket weaving and such laugh

i assume you site has a lot to do with government secrets? [Linked Image from sirdude.com]
