Try manually editing your config.inc.php file....

Look for this value....

$config['language']= "english";

I'm guessing it must be on something else.

Also..... why is your file named main.php?

Did you modify it?

It won't work if you simply rename the file.... to rename the main index, you'd have to fix the links in several places. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

I checked the language setting and it is set to english. The file called main.php is a file included in the ubbthreads.zip file I downloaded from your site. I didn't rename any of the files.

Hmmmmm......

The only file that comes with the threads download called main.php is the admin menu..... it should be in the admin directory of your install....

Like this:

http://www.akkhir.com/ubbthreads/admin/main.php

But that main file runs inside of a frame.. so you would never need to access it directly.

The language files should also be in their appropriate directories.

For example... all the scripts go inside the ubbthreads directory. Inside of the ubbthreads directory, you need an "admin" directory.

You also need a "languages" directory. Inside of there will be a directory for each language. For example "english".

I just took a look here:
http://ww.akkhir.com/ubbthreads/languages/english

The only thing there is generic.php
There should be lots of files in there.

Try re-uploading your threads files... be sure to include all the subdirectories and files within.

That's what is causing the trouble. You are missing about 53 language files inside that english directory. Plus your admin directory doesn't seem to be there.

Hope that helps. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

I will work with the info you have provided but I must say that NONE of these directions are to be found at http://www.infopop.com/support/ubbthreads/UBBThreads_Unix_install.html

Thanks!

It's all lumped under:
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="">quote:</font><hr /><font size="" face="">Set the FTP program to upload in ASCII mode, and upload all files and folders into the “ubbthreads” folder EXCEPT for the images folder and its contents.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="" face="">You didn't upload all the files. Unzip it all on your hard drive... it should be in a folder called 'ubbthreads'. Just upload that whole folder to your webserver. The structure of the folders within will be preserved that way.

All the files need to be uploaded in ASCII mode. Only the images folder (which resides in the ubbthreads folder needs to be uploaded in binary mode.

Maybe you did files one at a time and they got mixed up.

Structure should end up something like this:

- ubbthreads
(all the scrips are in here)
    - images folder (/ubbthreads/images)
    - templates folder
        - default folder (/ubbthreads/templates/default)
    - languages folder
        - english (/ubbthreads/languages/english)
        - (all other languages)
    - admin folder (/ubbthreads/admin)
    - stylesheets folder (/ubbthreads/stylesheets)
    - includes folder (/ubbthreads/includes)
    - filters folder (/ubbthreads/filters)

Yeah!

I'm glad you got it working.

If it's any help.... I think the demo is tougher to install than the real thing. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

I don't work for InfoPop, so hopefully you will believe me when I say that .threads is a superior product when it comes to message boards.

The level of support and add-ons available is wonderful. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Good luck with your board. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
