Hi there

Is it possible to show the true name of a user, instead of the username only. My forum users sometimes wants to see a users true name as well, in the left column, when you read any topics.

Is there a way to do this?

You mean 'login' name? There's no way to require a 'true name' unless you verify their registrations against a credit card or drivers license.

Perhaps you could add another field to the registration screen requesting a 'real' name. Then add this field to the appropriate template (post_side.tpl ?)

You could enable the custom title for the users and ask them to enter the true name. might need to edit the template to state that the field is for true names in lieu of custom title.
Then it would appear under the display name with out having to open the profile to look them up.
I think the custom title field allows duplicates but I have not tested it. So if you have two users called john doe they both will show as john doe.

Just change the value to a 1 for the group you wish.
