Hi I'm moving my forum over to a different server.
I have done a fresh install of 6.5.5 on the new server and it worked fine.
Now I want to import the data from the old forum on the other server to the new 6.5.5 on the new server.

I have done a backup of the forum on the old server running 6.5.2 from control panel

I tried to use the import from the new 6.5.5 control panel and it says
No file with a .yaml extension was found

Then I put the import script in the imports folder and get this

Error

File not found: ../libs/ubbthreads.inc.php
You need to copy the phpbb_import.php script to your ubbthreads/importers directory

I'm stuck and not sure how to get this old forum data over to the new forum.

I have the old fourm live and wanted to make the migration seemless for users. Then delete old board from old server.

Once I get the 6.5.5 running I will upgrade to 7

Why not just upgrade to 6.5.5. on the old server then dump your mysql db and import it via phpmyadmin on the new server then move the flat files over and chmod them? It's your best bet to get it moved over.

Also, the importers in the member area are only for importing to ubb.t7 and not for the v6 series.

Thanks For the reply Gizmo.

The problem is I have a content manager on both servers with like type tables etc. so I can't over write the database.

This is why I needed to try and figure out another way.

If you use phpmyadmin to dump out your tables you can select which ones you want to dump and move over, in this case only the ubb tables.

Ok if I upgrade the new server with ver 7 (still a blank forum)

Can I run the importer and import all data from the old server running ver 6.5.2

the old server has a different sql data base then the new. Also if the importer would work, will it just import the data from w3t_ tables etc. and not other stuff (hope so)

Yes, you can go directly from 6.5.2 to 7.x and it will only import the data from the w3t_ tables.
