I know this is not really a board problem but at the same time it could be a configuration problem.. I am looking for anyone that can give me an idea on what to look for or change.
My problem is when I select logout on my forums. It switches screens and says "Logging you out..." then will imed switch back to the forums and well I am still logged in.
I can ONLY log out by changing the cookie prefix or deleting the cookies in my IE.
This seems to be only an issue to IE for I tried it on firefox and it works like a charm.
Any help or direction on this issue would be much appricated. Thank you in advance.

What version of IE are you using? (IE6, IE7, IE8 Beta, etc) And on what OS? (I know IE5 worked on a Mac, so it's always good to get a bearing...)

I am seeing the same issue. Attempts to logout show "logging you out..." and then returns to the forums as if logged in. Leaving the forums (such as to the main web page) and then clicking through to the forums still displays the forums as if logged in but if you click logout at this point the software logs out properly.
All references I can find are the format www.domainname.net but for some reason all entry to the the forums displays a redirect screen and the URL in the address box shows http://domainname.net/forums/ubbthreads.php
I can not find any configuration item that redirects to the domain without the www and I suspect the logout problem may be a cookie issue.
A bit of guidance from the dungeon master would be helpful.

I have had the same issue and it was a permissions problem in the session files I think. The session folder and files needs to be chmod 777 and this stopped the problem.

I had this problem on vista with IE7 a few times.
I manually went into IE7 settings and erased all my cookies.
That worked.
Clearing cookies from UBBThreads did not work.
So far I have not had this issue with FireFox.

Yes this has been discussed before and FireFox is better for this. Not really sure why but my guess would be that the use of index.dat which also has a record of all you do may be at least partially to blame for not properly refreshing the page.
Cookie removal from IE may or may not work, for some it has.
